Repsol Honda Team entered MotoGP championship in 1995.
It was since then official factory Honda MotoGP team, one of most succesful teams in history of MotoGP championship. Team had greatest success with Mick Doohan, who won for them five consecutive 500ccm MotoGP titles in period from 1994 to 1998, before retiring from racing and becoming HRC Racing Manager. Next man to extend Repsol Honda success was Valentino Rossi, who won two championship titles for Repsol Honda, in 1992 and 1993, before going to Yamaha. After Rossi moved to Yamaha, Repsol Honda Team has contracted Nicky Hayden and Alex Barros for season 2004, and despite having full factory support, riders were outperformed by satelite Honda team riders Sete Gibernau and Max Biaggi. Team has announced its rider line-up for 2005 season: Max Biaggi and Nicky Hayden.
