Konica Minolta Team

Konica Minolta Honda team is youngest team in MotoGP paddock, formed after season 2004. It is one-rider team, with Makoto Tamada as team rider for 2005.
Team name is Japan Italy Racing, and it will contend 2005 championship under name Konica Minolta Honda, with Konica Minolta in role of title sponsor. Konica Minolta is global company which provides products ranging from digital cameras and medical instruments to optical pickup lenses.
Managing Director of the team is Luca Montirion, who had same role in Pramac, which sponsored Bridgestone equiped Honda of Makoto Tamada in 2004. President of Japan Italy Racing is Tetsuo Iida - who was president of Honda Europe NV until year 2002. Team is set to run on Michelin equiped Honda RC211V in 2005.
From the technical point of view, team is mix of Japanese and Italian mechanics, with Giulio Bernardelle as techical director.
