In the same season he took his first victory in Kyalami in South Africa. Next season Biaggi joined Honda, and finished 4th in championship standings by taking single victory in Barcelona. His return to Aprilia in 1994 was start of his dominance in 250ccm world championship, where he scored three consecutive titles for this manufacturer in 1994, 1995 and 1996. In 1997, Max Biaggi returned to Honda, riding for Erv Kanemoto team, and scored fourth consecutive title in this year, before moving to 500ccm class.

Max Biaggi-MotoGP biography

In 1992, Biaggi riding the four-stroke for the first time came strong as the Yamaha improved throughout the season. He won in Brno and Sepang to clinch the runner-up place behind his great rival Valentino Rossi. In 1993 Biaggi finished third in MotoGP championship, after rejoining Honda, this time for Camel Pramac Pons team. Everyone expected Biaggi to be one of the main title pretenders in 2004, but his crash in Estoril made this hopes fade as championship gap to Valentino Rossi grown to 51 points. Until the end of the 2004 MotoGP season, Biaggi has lost contact with championship leader Rossi and 2nd Gibernau, finishing season in 3rd.

2005 season
MotoGP season was expected to be crucial for Max Biagi career, as he has became official factory Repsol Honda rider, after joining Repsol Honda Team. In this team, Biaggi was joined by Erv Kanemoto in role of Technical Director. Based on previous succesfull cooperation between Biagi and Kanemoto, and full factory support from Honda, Biaggi is expected to be one of main title pretenders in 2005. However, season 2005 was disaster for Max Biaggi, as he failed to become one of title pretenders, and struggled with his Repsol Honda RC211V through whole season. Biaggi finished only four races on podium in this season: he was 3rd in Portugal and Czech Republic, and 2nd in Italy and Japan. In general standings, he ended 2005 season in 5th place with 173 points, 194 points behind his bitter rival and World Champion, Valentino Rossi.

Max Biaggi was higly unsatisfied with his team and bike in 2005, and he was not afraid to say that in public. This lead to uggly split with Honda, whose boses decided that Max Biaggi will never enter an Honda MotoGP team, factory and satelite. Despite negotiating with Kawasaki and Suzuki for 2006 ride, Max Biaggi failed to find one and that seems to be end of his MotoGP career.
