Makoto Tamada-250ccm biography Makoto Tamada made great debut in motorcycle racing in Japan: he entered 250cc Production Regional Championship in 1994 and took the title in his very first season. From 1995 to 1998, Tamada raced in All Japan 250cc Championship, and finished these seasons in 11th, 14th, 6th and 4th place, which was great success considering the fact that he was on private bike, competing with factory riders. In the spring of 1999, Tamada made his debut in the 250 World Championship at the Japanese Grand Prix, ending the race only just outside the points zone. At the same time, Makoto Tamada started racing on superbike, making great success. He took second championship position in All Japan Superbike Championship for three years: 2000, 2001 and 2002. At the same time, Makoto Tamada took few wildcard appearances in World Superbike Championship, winning twice in 2001 and 2002. He also rode prestigious Suzuka eight hour race many times with superstars like Tady Okada, Daijiro Kato, Alex Barros and Tohry Ukawa, where his greatest success was second place with Okada.

In season 2004, Tamada was confirmed as official rider for Camel Pramac Honda team with Max Biaggi, again on Bridgestone tyres. In this season he got his first win in Brazil, and second place in Portugal.
