Haga overtaking Corser in the raceNoriyuki Haga took another victory today in Monza, as he repeated similar scenario as in race 1 - not so good start, chasing leaders, catching them, getting in the front and checking out. Toseland was again leader in early stages of the race, but again he was unable to maintain high pace in later stages, this time managing to keep second place, despite being threatened by Bayliss, Rolfo and Biaggi. Bayliss has stolen third place in fantastic last lap battle.

It was fantastic battle for the 3rd place, with Biaggi, Rolfo and Bayliss exchanging their places in last lap, with reigning Superbike champion eventually taking it. Rolfo Edged Biaggi for 4th place, after Biaggi made off-track excursion in this battle. However, Roman Emperrior finished home race in 5th.

Troy Corser was unable to keep pace of his team-mate Haga and ended today's race in 6th. Kagayama ended race in 7th, Laconi in 8th, Muggeridge in 9th, with Smrz completing top ten Superbike finishers in Monza.

James Toseland is still in the lead in championship, but with Monza double Haga got into second spot in championship, 35 points behind leader. Biaggi is now 3rd in championship, 3 points behind Haga, with Bayliss further 27 points behind Biaggi.
