Casey Stoner finally managed to materialize great form from free practices and qualifying to a first victory in 2010. Stoner had fantastic start and managed to dictate tempo from the start, unlike his hardest rival from this race, Dani Pedrosa. Pedrosa had unusually bad start which forced him to do lot a lot of work to catch-up with Stoner, but closest he could get to Stoner was 1.1 seconds after many hot-laps. Pedrosa finally decided to stay in safe second place. Nicky Hayden brought more joy to Ducati camp, as he took 3rd place in final lap from Lorenzo, whom he trailed through whole race.
Jorge Lorenzo was off the podium for the first time in 2010, obviously being unable to ride his Yamaha on usual level. Ben Spies finished race in solid 5th place. Valentino Rossi confirmed bad set-up and shoulder problems in race by taking 6th place, more than 27 seconds behind race winner. Marco Simoncelli was 7th, in front of Bautista, Melandri and Espargaro.
