2007-07-21 Stoner resumes domination in second free practice

 Casey Stoner continued where he left at FP1, setting fastest time of the second free practice session, also being the only rider to go under 1.23 mark. This time Stoner broke lap record set last year by Pedrosa by 0.336 seconds, promissing another great performance. Marco Melandri has found his way to the top and he refuses to let it go, setting second fastest time in FP2, just 0.18 seconds of the Stoner's time. John Hopkins was third fastest today,almost 0.5 seconds behind Stoner.
Colin Edwards was first of the four riders covered by just 0.124 seconds. This package also includes Dani Pedrosa who significantly improved from FP1. Valentino Rossi is also in this pack in 6th place, in front of Chris Vermeulen in 7th. Nicky Hayden was further 0.192 seconds behind Vermeulen, gradually improving on the track where he scored 2 victories.
Loris Capirossi was 9th fastest, in front of Makoto Tamada, who completed top 10 fastest riders in FP2. FP2 has shown that we may expect tough battle in the race, as top 10 riders were covered by one second.
Alex Hofmann, who suffered injury in FP1, was replaced by British rider Chaz Davies, who ended FP2 3.462 seconds behind Stoner. From other rider crashing, there was usual one, Randy de Puniet, luckily without injuries.
