2007-09-01  Stoner pushes Rossi off the pole in Misano

Casey Stoner once again spoiled things for Valentino Rossi, as he stole pole position from Italian in fantastic lap in last seconds of qualifying. Stoner set time of 1:33.918, being only rider under 1.34 mark. Nicky Hayden was third fastest today, as he continued to keep good form he has found in second part of the season. Randy de Puniet was 4th fastest today, after spending most of the qualifying session on the top. John Hopkins was 5th fastest, in front of Dani Pedrosa in 6th. Carlos Checa put great effort to get solid 7th qualifying time. Chris Vermeulen edged Colin Edwards for 9th place, with Edwards being last rider inside one second from pole-man Stoner.
