2010-04-11  Stoner leaves no hope for competitors in Qualifying
Be first to comment this story

Stoner on his way to pole position in QatarCasey Stoner continued his mission in MotoGP qualifying session, leaving competition far behind in dust. Qualifying and free practice form demonstrated by Stoner in free practice and qualifying session looks as a preview for the race today, unless his rivals find some extra speed in warm-up. Valentino Rossi was second fastest in qualifying, loosing chance to get pole position in last lap that seemed like possible unpleasant surprise for Stoner. Jorge Lorenzo completed first row, obviously recovered enough to be threat for at least for Rossi.

Randy de Puniet continued to demonstrate good form by taking 4th place on the grid. Capirossi finished qualifying in 5th, showing some progress made in Suzuki team. Andrea Dovizio was best factory Honda in 6th place, edging team-mate for just 0.027 seconds.

Colin Edwards was fastest Tech3 Yamaha in 8th and last rider within a second of Stoner's time. Nicky Hayden was once again far from team-mate Stoner in 9th, while best rookie of the qualifying was Horoshi Aoyama in 10th place.
