2007-06-22 Stoner fastest rider of the Friday in wet Donington

Friday free practice session for Nickel and Dime British Grand Prix saw both MotoGP sessions taking place in wet conditions, with Championship leader Casey Stoner setting fastest time of the day in first free practice. Dani Pedrosa was quickest rider of the second free practice session, around one tenth of the seconds off the time set by Stoner in first free practice session. Nicky Hayden was second fastest rider in both free practice sessions, showing that new chassis which he tested in Catalunya was step in right direction.
Frenchman Randy de Puniet was 4th fastest rider of the Friday free practice, despite still recovering from injuries. Chris Vermeulen was once again fast in the rain, setting 5th time of the day, in front of Colin Edwards in 6th. MotoGP rookie, Kawasaki's Anthony West quickly adapted to MotoGP category and set impressive 7th fastest time of the day. John Hopkins was 8th fastest, in front of Marco Melandri. Valentino Rossi completed top 10 fastest riders in Donington today.
First free practice session saw Valentino Rossi, Chris Vermeulen and Carlos Checa crashing. Riders were more cautius in second free practice session, with Sylvian Guintoli being only rider to crash in this session.
