2010-04-09 Stoner demolishes competitors in Qatar opening practice

 Casey Stoner was once more untouchable in Qatar, as he was constantly more than a half of a second faster than his rivals. Stoner set his fastest time easily, obviously leaving at least half a second in his sleeve for tomorrow. Jorge Lorenzo beat his team-mate for second place in last minutes of qualifying despite crash which he escaped unhurt. Rossi spent most of the session in second place before he was moved by Lorenzo to third. Dovizioso jumped to 4th place at the end of the session to be best Honda in first free MotoGP practice, in front of Nicky Hayden.
