2007-08-18 Stoner continues Brno domination in FP3

Casey Stoner continued domination in third free practice in Brno, as he set new fastest lap of the track and stayed 0.651 seconds clear of second fastest rider, John Hopkins. Randy de Puniet continued with strong practice pace as he set 3rd fastest time, being last rider under 1.59 margin, and also last rider to be under one second slower than Stoner.
Fastest Yamaha and Michelin rider in third MotoGP free practice was Colin Edwards, stil 1.229 seconds slower than Stoner, but far better than team-mate, Rossi, who ended FP3 in distant 12th place, further 0.5 seconds of the time set by Edwards. Loris Capirossi was 5th fastest today, just edging Chris Vermeulen in 6th. Sulvian Guintoli set 7th fastest time, in front of Repsol Honda duo of Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden, pair which did not expected to be so far off the pace. Makoto Tamada put other Tech 3 Yamaha in top 10 today.
Marco Melandri was again absent from the track, as he received another neck threatment in Clinica Mobile.
