MotoGP riders today had first chance to try resurfaced Brno track, with usual riders on the front of the pack again. Casey Stoner managed to set first time of the day in second free practice, despite illness which slowed down his progress. Valentino Rossi, who was fastest in first free practice, managed to set second time of the day, less than two tenths of a second behind Stoner. More than half of a second behind Rossi was returning Loris Capirossi.
After getting chance to try factory bike, Shinya Nakano proved that he deserved it by setting 4th time of the day, stealing this place from his team-mate, Alex de Angelis. Chris Vermeulen was 6th rider in Brno today, in front of Colin Edwards who was best Michelin rider in Czech Republic today. Edwards was also only Michelin rider in top 10, showing that Brno may bring some trouble into Michelin camp.
John Hopkins returned to the action today by setting decent 8th place. Ducati duo of Toni Elias and Sulvain Guintoli completed top 10 riders in Brno today. Spanish stars recovering from injuries were not so successful today - Lorenzo ended day as 11th, while Pedrosa had even more troubles, ending day in 16th place.
