Valentino Rossi wins historic Indianapolis raceValentino Rossi continued to write record books in Indianapolis today, as he took 69th career victory, one more than previous record holder Giacomo Agostini. Race took place in wet conditions, which gradually got worse until race was red-flagged with 7 laps remaining. After few doubts about running for 5 more additional laps, race was declared as finished. Nicky Hayden took second place after initially leading the race, while Jorge Lorenzo made his way to 3rd place, which could easily become 2nd if there was no race interruption.

Casey Stoner was in the front of the field in opening laps only, but soon it became clear that he has no speed to go with front-runners, winning the battle for 4th place with Dovizioso. Andrea Dovizioso was once again fast in first part in the race, and then faded into still good 5th place. Ben Spies once more shown that he deserves place in MotoGP by taking 6th place in his wildcard appearance.

Sylvain Guintoly made long way from the back of the grid to 7th place, while Dani Pedrosa continued adaptation to both Bridgestone tyres and wet weather and took 8th place. Chris Vermeulen did not show his wet-weather magic and finished as 9th, with Alex De Angelis completing top 10.
