Difficult British rally once again saw MotoGP star lining-up among experienced rally riders, this time with much more success than in his previous appearance in Wales. Initial day of the rally saw Rossi dropping his times from 45th in initial stage, to the 24th at the end of the day. Second day of rallying brought another nine places to MotoGP champion, which ended day in 15th position. Third and final day of Wales raly saw Rossi ending in 12th place, one place less than in his best Rally apearance in rally New Zealand. However, this time Rossi was much closer to the rally winner, 13min 10.4seconds, compared to previous best of 20min 38.8 seconds in New Zealand.
