After many races of struggle, after so many people have written him off, Valentino Rossi today recovered after so many races without victory and won in front of Dani Pedrosa, after race-long battle. Pedrosa was first which had race lead in opening laps, but Rossi was pushing hard from behind and he overtook Pedrosa in lap 6. From that point, two riders started to set pace that was way to high for other riders. Rossi and Pedrosa pushed each other to fastest laps of the race, until Rossi's final push under lap record broke Pedrosa and from that point Rossi extended gap to almost 4 seconds until the end of the race. Casey Stoner also recovered from bad start of the season by taking 3rd place, almost 16 seconds behind Rossi - but also 7 seconds in front of Lorenzo. Jorge Lorenzo, despite injuries and incident on the start of the warm-up lap, managed to finish race in fantastic 4th place and this way to save 2nd place in championship, 2 points in front of team-mate Rossi. Lorenzo had to earn this place in long battle with so many riders, including Capirossi, Dovizioso, Melandri, Hayden, Edwards... Marco Melandri brought another long-expected comeback by taking 5th place, after seeming able to even more at some stages. Nicky Hayden picked some points for 6th, in front of Colin Edwards who once more proved that he is not the man to bet on in race, despite fantastic pre-race performances. Toni Elias earned fantastic 8th place, in front of Loris Capirossi in 9th. Shinya Nakano completed top 10 finishers in China. In championship, Dani Pedrosa stays in lead, 7 points in front of Lorenzo and two more points from Rossi. Casey Stoner picked valuable points today but still stays 16 points from Rossi and has lot of work in front of him in order to defend 2007 crown. After 4 races, we have 4 winners and one of most exciting championships so far, so we hope things will continue to go in same direction in races that follow.
