2008-07-25  Provisional 2009 MotoGP calendar announced

Balaton Ring proposed for 2009 MotoGP seasonThe FIM has announced the provisional MotoGP calendar for 2009. The season will remain at 18-rounds, with the first race proposed for the evening of Sunday 12th April at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar, and finishing with the traditional season-end race at Valencia in Spain on Sunday 8th November.

There is also a proposed new round at the Balatonring in Hungary to replace the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. The other major changes see the Japanese race move to the second round of the season with the Portuguese event moving to later in the year.
