2007-08-17  MotoGP free practice - Brno - Michelin trouble continues?
Be first to comment this story

Sylvian Guntoli fastest in Brno on day 1 First day of free practice for Cardion AB Grand Prix Ceske Republiky saw Bridgestone riders again topping timesheets in both free practices, with exception of Frenchman Sylvian Guintoli, who used Dunlop qualifiers on his Yamaha in second free practice to set fastest time of the day. Despite this exception, race pace was on the side of Bridgestone riders, once again led by Championship leader, Casey Stoner. John Hopkins was third fastest rider of the day, in front of Loris Capirossi, who has shown improvement in form on Czech circuit. Capirossi was  last rider to set time inside 1.58 bracket today.

Kawasaki's Randy de Puniet was 5th fastest on fresh painted lime green Kawasaki. Valentino Rossi was fastest Michelin rider today in distant 6th place, around 0.8 seconds behind Guintoli, and, more important, around 0.6 seconds behind Stoner. Dani Pedrosa was just 0.09 seconds behind Rossi, and 0.2 seconds in front of team-mate Hayden in 8th. Makoto Tamada set respectable 9th place, with Chris Vermeulen completing top 10 fastest riders in Brno today.

Marco Melandri was only rider that did not improved in free practice second session, as he missed it due to severe neck pains that he felt in first free practice session. We hope that Melandri will be able to get back to the action tomorrow.
