2006-09-23 Loris Capirossi grabs pole at Motegi

Loris Capirossi stormed his Ducati Desmosedici to another pole position at Motegi circuit today. Capirossi set new pole position record of 1.45.724, beating his previous pole position record on Motegi for more than half of a second. Only onther rider to go unde 1.46 bareer was Valentino Rossi, who qualified second, around quarter second behind Capirossi.
Marco Melandri completed front row of MotoGP grid for tomorrow's race in Japan. Shinya Nakano once again shown great performance in qualifying, as he set 4th fastest time of the day at Motegi. Sete Gibernau qualified 5th, in front of Toni Elias.
World championship leader Nicky Hayden will start race from front of the 3rd row, from 7th place. Hayden was joined in 3rd row by Randy De Puniet and Dani Pedrosa, who struggled most of the time on Japanese track. Colin Edwards completed top 10 qualifier at Motegi.
