Jorge Lorenzo takes victory at Le Mans, second in a rowJorge Lorenzo managed to score two wins in a row for a first time in his career, as he took dominant victory at Le Mans circuit in front of his main rival and team-mate, Valentino Rossi. Lorenzo took steady start and trailed Rossi for 11 laps, before attacking Rossi and disappearing in the distance. Valentino Rossi tried to hang in the lead as long as possible, but it was obvious from the start of the race that he does not have the pace to fight with Lorenzo. Andrea Dovizioso spent almost complete race trailing his team-mate Pedrosa, before attacking in last lap and taking final podium position.

Nicky Hayden was another rider to profit in last lap, as he managed to overtake Pedrosa and score 4th place. Nicky Hayden once again finished race better than his team-mate Stoner, who had complete disaster as he lost back-end of his bike in 3rd lap and ended race without any points. Marco Melandri was best satellite Honda rider in 6th place, in front of LCR Honda of French rider Randy de Puniet. Hector Barbera scored best result of the season in 8th place, in front of Aleix Espargaro. Marco Simoncelli completed top 10 finishers in a race where only 13 riders managed to see chequered flag.

Besides Stoner, who crashed in 3rd lap, Loris Capirossi and Ben Spies ended race in 7th lap. After Le Mans, Jorge Lorenzo leads championship by 9 points, Rossi is second, while Andrea Dovizioso jumped to third place in championship, two points in front of team-mate, Dani Pedrosa.
