Pedrosa had no answer to low 1.37 laps set by Lorenzo, and had to settle in second place, more than 10 seconds in front of Rossi. Rossi was once again best Bridgestone finisher, but once again he was unable to follow lap times set by Spanish duo of Pedrosa and Lorenzo.

John Hopkins set best result of the season for Kawasaki by taking 5th place, three seconds clear of MotoGP champion Casey Stoner in not so bad 6th place.
