Lorenzo takes second consecutive pole in Assen

Jorge Lorenzo once again demonstrated authority to rest of the MotoGP field, as he took pole position for Dutch Grand Prix. Randy de Puniet once again proved that his result from the Silverstone was not coincidence, taking second position on the starting grid. Casey Stoner was 3rd fastest, while Ben Spies took credible 4th spot on the grid, obviously being boosted by Silverstone podium.

Nicky Hayden qualified in 5th place, in front of Repsol Honda pair of Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa. Marco Simoncelli was 8th fastest in Assen, while Colin Edwards ended session in 9th. Aleix Espargaro took another credible 10th place on the grid. Marco Melandri did not took part of the qualifying session as he sustained shoulder injury in morning practice.
