Usuall sentences like they are too young, they need time to get used to MotoGP bike and so on don't make too much sense now, as we saw top form of all rookies through all weekend. All this culminated during the qualifying session, as Jorge Lorenzo took pole position in his first ever MotoGP racing weekend, and did it in style, breaking previous pole position record set by Valentino Rossi by more than a second! To make things even better for rookies, James Toseland took second position in qualifying, after spending most of the time on the top position. Colin Edwards completed first row consisted of Michelin shod Yamahas.
Casey Stoner was first of three Bridgestone riders in 4th position, as his hopes for better qualifying positions were spoiled by Toni Elias in his last attempt. Randy de Puniet was top Honda today in 5th place, in front of factory Honda rider Nicky Hayden. Valentino Rossi was second Bridgestone rider in 7th, struggling to make hot lap on Bridgestone qualifiers. Dani Pedrosa recovered from yesterday crash sufficient to take 8th place. Andrea Dovizioso was 9th, with John Hopkins completing top 10 qualifiers - and starting string of all Bridgestone riders to the end of the list.
