2006-11-28 Ducati riders cautius on day one of Jerez test

Loris Capirossi and Casey Stoner were only able to manage a few laps today with the 800cc Ducati Desmosedici GP7. After a couple of exits apiece late in the morning, when temperatures were suitable for the start of testing, a heavy rain shower forced the Ducati Marlboro Team riders into the pits. In the afternoon, despite the fact that the rain had stopped, the track surface was far too wet to allow testing to continue.
Casey Stoner made 7 laps and set 8th fastest time, while his experienced team-mate, Loris Capirossi circulated Jerez circuit only 5 times to set 5th fastest time of the day.
Forecasts for tomorrow and the day after are good and hopefully this will allow the Italian squad to continue its preparations for the 2007 MotoGP championship with the Desmosedici GP7.
