2007-03-24 Dani Pedrosa takes Jerez pole

Dani Pedrosa took pole position on his home track in last minutes of Qualifying in Jerez, giving his fans reasons to cheer about. Valentino Rossi took second position on the grid, only 0.051 seconds behind Pedrosa. Carlos Checa continued good performance on Spanish track by taking last spot on grid.

Colin Edwards was briefly on pole position, before being redelegated to 4th place at the end of the session. Casy Stoner, who was one of early pole-sitters, qualified for tomorrow's race in 5th, in front of another Bridgestone rider, John Hopkinks.

Shinya Nakano improved compared to Qatar and manage to qualify as 8th, in front of Elias and Melandri. Kenny Roberts put last seconds charge to get into top 10 qualifiers, as he spend most of the time at the back of the grid.

Nicky Hayden was on on the sharp edge again, as he qualified as only 11th. Also frustrated must be Loris Capirossi, who ended day in distant 15th place.
