Dani Pedrosa today took home glory in Jerez as he got dominant victory, finishing race almost 3 second in front of Valentino Rossi. Pedrosa led race from the start to the end, extending lead from lap to lap and showing no mercy for his competitors. Valentino Rossi did not have such great start, dropping to seventh place in first corner, but he soon made his way through and settled in 2nd place, from which he seemed unable to threaten Pedrosa. One lap before end of the race, Rossi almost lost second place as he thought that race was finished, but fortunately for him, he realized that there was one more lap to go. Man that seemed most frustrated by this race was Jorge Lorenzo, who was not able to repeat his practice pace in the race, and had to settle in third place, being beaten by two people from which it hurts the most.
Nicky Hayden was pleasant surprise in this race, as he keptstep with Lorenzo for most of the race, but when he tried to close gap in lastpart of the race, he had to escape crash by performing similar saving asEdwards did yesterday. Hayden eventually finished race in 4th place, which isanyway great result for Repsol Honda rider. Edwards, on the other hand, onceagain demonstrated that his performance in practice is never repeated in therace, loosing place by place and finally crashed, rejoined and retired. Loris Capirossi had interesting battle with Toseland,Hopkins and Dovizioso, from which he took victory and deserved 5th place. JamesToseland made fantastic result by taking 6th place despite health problems, infront of John Hopkins in 7th. Andrea Dovizioso seemed to be on his way to 5thplace, but more experienced riders have shown him some tricks and he had tosettle in 8th place. Shinya Nakano ended race in 9th place, with Vermeulencompleting top 10 finishers in Jerez. MotoGP champion Casey Stoner had nightmare race, as hemissed his breaking point three times and had to do some riding thru gravelbefore rejoining race and finishing in distant 11th place, at least salvaging 4points. On the crashing part of the story, usual suspect Randy de Puniet joinedEdwards in non-finishers listing. Jerez 2008 - complete race results:
