2007-09-22  Dani Pedrosa on pole in Motegi

Dani Pedrosa grabs Motegi pole in dominant styleDani Pedrosa today took his only second pole position in 2007, as he set fantastic time of 1:45.864, which was 0.391 seconds quicker than his closest rival, Valentino Rossi. Pedrosa also dominated all free practice sessions, setting race-pace that was higher than pace of his rivals, so tomorrow we may expect him to be one of main pretenders for a victory. Valentino Rossi has managed to recover from terrific first day in Motegi, setting decent race pace in free practice, and grabbing second position on the grid. Nicky Hayden completed front row in Motegi, once again showing consistency that brought him title in 2006. Three riders in front row are all Michelin users, which shows that French factory managed to get close to Bridgestone.

Randy de Puniet was best Bridgestone qualifier in 4th place, hopefully he won't spoil it by crashing tomorrow. Toni Elias was another Bridgestone rider in 5th, being last rider within one second of a pole time. Fantastic Anthony West qualified in 6th, which is his best grid position so far. Colin Edwards was 7th fastest, in front of Ducati - but this time of Loris Capirossi. Casey Stoner today had worst qualifying of this year and will start race tomorrow from end of the third row. John Hopkins completed top 10 qualifiers in Motegi today.
