2007-10-20 Dani Pedrosa grabs third consecutive pole at Sepang

Dani Pedrosa grabbed today at Sepang third consecutive pole position, snatching it in last seconds of the session from the new MotoGP World Champion, Casey Stoner. Second place seems to be quite enough for Casey Stoner, as he has strongest race pace, so we may expect another dominant race from Australian. Marco Mealandri was third fastest today, completing all-Bridgestone front row in Malaysia.
Kawasaki duo of Randy de Puniet and Anthony West was pleasant surprise of the day, as they took 4th and 5th spot on the grid, proving how competitive green machine has become. Nicky Hayden completed second row in 6th place. Chris Vermeulen was better Suzuki today in 7th place, in front of Toni Elias. Valentino Rossi continued to struggle in Sepang and qualified only as 9th. John Hopkins completed top 10 qualifiers at Sepang today.
Once again we saw Bridgestone domination, with seven of ten riders in top 10 using Bridgestone rubber. Interesting fact today was that, despite long track, top 11 qualifiers were all within 0.831 seconds, which show, at least in qualifying, high level of competition.
