Dani Pedrosa grabs Le Mans pole position

Dani Pedrosa found extra speed in last minute of the MotoGP qualifying at Le Mans to grab pole position from Colin Edwards, who looked untouchable in that position. Dani Pedrosa found few tenths in last section of the track to set circuit record and to resume domination which he left in FP2. Colin Edwards was robbed in last qualifying attempt by Marco Melandri, as he slow him down in a lap which looked like another best time in a sequence. Casey Stoner completed front row, happy with race set-up which gives him confidence for the race.

Valentino Rossi was another of top riders with great race-pace, qualifying in 4th position, just in front of Jorge Lorenzo, who again scared his team and fans with few off-track excursions. Nicky Hayden recovered, at least on qualifiers, from nightmare practice. James Toseland grabbed 7th spot on the grid in hist first visit to French circuit.

Chris Vermeulen, who was quite high during first part of qualifying, ended session in 8th place. John Hopkins was in 9th, while Andrea Dovizioso completed top 10 finishers in Le Mans.
