Casey Stoner wins wet Sachsenring race Race at Sachsenring today had outcome that we have expected, but it's start was everything but expected. Dani Pedrosa stormed to initial lead, quickly gaining 7.5 seconds lead, looking like he is going to make wet-race miracle. However, his fantastic appearance ended in lap 6, when he suffered crash while braking at the end of main straight. From that point it was usual business - Stoner took the lead and never let it go. Valentino Rossi had one of his average starts and had to make his way through the field to the second place, but once again he was unable to match pace of the Casey Stoner. Usual frontrunner in the rain, Chris Vermeulen, build his way to the last podium step.

Alex De Angelis shown fantastic performance in Sachsenring today, finishing race in 4th place, after trying hard to snatch last podium position from Vermeulen. Andrea Dovizioso once again completed top 5 race finishers, after fighting for even higher positions early in the race. Ride of the day came from Sulvain Guintoli, who finished in 6th place, showing steady progress on satellite Ducati.

Loris Capirossi snatched 7th place from Randy de Puniet, which is decent result considering his physical state. Shinya Nakano finished in "his" 9th place, while Anthony West ruined chances for good result while crashing from 7th place in lap 7, but managed to save some points after re-joining race and finishing in 10th.

After Sachsenring race, Valentino Rossi re-took championship lead, 16 points in front of Pedrosa, and 20 points in front of Stoner. With Dani Pedrosa most likely suffering finger fracture in crash today, main threat to Rossi's championship lead is Stoner, who demonstrated terrifying form in last three races.

Tricky conditions in Sachsenring today resulted in 4 riders crashing out of the race : Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, Colin Edwards and Marco Melandri.
