2006-08-20 Brno Race: Capirossi wins miles ahead of Rossi

Loris Capirossi won Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Republiky in a dominant way, leading race from the start to the finish. Capirossi started setting pace from the beginning of the race, with other riders being unable respond to perfect Capirossi-Ducati-Bridgestone combination. At the end of the race, he won by 5 seconds advantage over Valentino Rossi.
Rossi was initially followed by championship leader, Nicky Hayden, who soon started experiencing tyre problems and started loosing places, finishing race in distant 9th place and loosign championship point advantage over his rivals, Rossi and Pedrosa. Pedrosa made his way through from 9th place of the grid to the 3rd place in the race, threatening Rossi for second place, but after some close battling in last few laps of the race, he decided to settle for 3rd place behind Rossi.
Close battla was lead for 4th position, with Roberts, Melandri and Stoner exchanging positions from lap to lap, with Roberts eventually taking 4th place in front of Melandri and Stoner. John Hopkins made last lap manuevre to take 7th place from Nakano, who edged Hayden in last corner for 8th place.
Colin Edwards has shown promissing pace in opening stages of the race, but mid race he started to loose places and eventually fininsh in 10th place.
With five race remaining in the championship, Nicky Hayden leads 25 points from Dani Pedrosa, who is another 13 points ahead of Rossi. After Brno, Rossi gained one place in championship and he now lies 3rd, only two points ahead of Marco Melandri. Next MotoGP race will take place in two weeks in Malaysia.
